Hi,
Not sure if you remember me but I’m the one who wrote the GUI for your BSP tuner a few yaers ago and we met at SIGGRAPH in LA. Long time no see.
Thank you for the great podcasts. I’ve been having so much fun and learned a lot.
Any plan selling the DVD in Japan?
Cheers,
junki

Hello again Junki! The DVD is NTSC Region 0 so the DVD should definitely work in Japan. If you are unable to order through the website, try ordering it through Amazon. The shipping will probably be cheaper that way. Hope to see you at Siggraph this year!

Got it! Watchin’ it with da kids. They’re enjoying the technical aspect of it too. Thanks for sharing your hard earned knowledge, Lucas!
Question. I noticed some of the images used Maya. Did you switch during production to XSI? How did that discover process occur?
July 16th, 2010 at 12:02 pm
Yeah, I had used Max, Maya and XSI, but when I started I only had a mac so I was using the PLE version of Maya for those early animatics.

Sounds like you tried the three major aps. What made you switch to XSI? What was the discovery process
July 22nd, 2010 at 6:23 pm
No a specific reason. It just felt more intuitive than Maya. Plus, the core kernel had been completely rewritten since the old softimage days, which meant that there were fewer layers of junk in the source code that had built up over the years.

Wonderful podcasts, Lucas! I have been eagerly following all your updates before and when I watched it for the first time it totally blew me away. Everything from animation, lighting, compositing, modeling is simply brilliant and well thought off. I have been applying some of your techniques that you discussed in your podcasts and since then, my workflow has gotten better. Thanks, Lucas. And congratulations!
